The Nurses is an American television series of the medical drama genre. It ran for two seasons under that title from 1962 to 1964. For the third season, the title of the program was changed to The Doctors and the Nurses. The third season ran for thirty episode from 1964 to 1965. The series was produced by Plautus Productions, Inc. and aired on CBS and ran for a total of 98 episodes between the two different titles.
The series starred Shirl Conway as Liz Thorpe, Zina Bethune as Gail Lucas and Ed Binns as Anson Kiley. All three of these actors were on the show for its entirety. Stephen Brooks joined the cast in season two as Doctor Ned Lowry, but left the show at the end of the season. Joseph Campanella and Michael Tolan came on board for The Doctors and the Nurses in season three playing the respective roles of Doctor Ted Steffen and Doctor Alex Tazinski.
