Principal R. Snyder is a recurring character featured in the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He was played by actor Armin Shimerman and was introduced in the season two episode "The Puppet Show". He appeared in nineteen episodes of the series and was killed off in the season three finale "Graduation Day (Part 2)".

- The character of R. Snyder was created by director Ellen S. Pressman and writers Dean Batali and Rob Des Hotel based on concepts originally developed by Joss Whedon.
- The Buffy novel One Thing or Your Mother reveals that Snyder's first name is Cecil. This is considered a non-canon reference however as his first name begins with the letter R. This has been routinely seen on his name plate in his office.
- Principal Snyder also appears in Buffy's dream in issue 20 of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season Eight comic book series.
- Actor Armin Shimerman is also known for playing the role of alien bartender Quark on the sci-fi television series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Shimmerman was working on both Buffy and Deep Space Nine simultaneously.
