The Portland Police Bureau is a fictionalized version of the Portland Police Department featured in the NBC supernatural drama series Grimm. They are based out of the city of Portland in the US state of Oregon.
On the series, the PPB is headed up by Captain Sean Renard. The homicide division of the PPB consists primarily of detectives Nick Burkhardt and Hank Griffin. One of the recurring uniformed officers seen on the series is Sergeant Wu.
The Portland Police Bureau investigated the murder of a college student named Sylvie Oster, whose partial remains were discovered off Sweetbriar Trail in Berkeley Park. This murder was also connected to the disappearance of a young girl named Robin Howell. Detectives Burkhardt and Griffin tracked the kidnapper to a cabin in the woods where Nick discovered that it was a postman who was a supernatural creature known as a blutbad. [1]
A young woman named Gilda Darner came to the PPB after confessing to breaking into the home of the Rabe family. She claimed that her boyfriend, Rocky Babb, had been attacked and possibly killed by some horrible creature. Although it was a missing persons case, Homicide Division took the lead on the investigation. Once again, Detective Burkhardt connected the incident to elements of the supernatural when he found that the individual responsible for attacking and abducting Rocky Babb, Barry Rabe, was a teenage werebear known as a jagerbar.
