Outsourced is an American television comedy series that aired on NBC for a single season from September 23rd, 2010 to May 12th, 2011, consisting of a total of twenty-two episodes. The series was created by Robert Borden and is based on the 2006 feature film of the same name, directed by John Jeffcoat. The series was produced by Universal Media Studios and aired as part of NBC's Fall lineup.
The series stars Ben Rappaport as American blue-collar worker Todd Dempsey - an employee of the Mid America Novelties company in the United States. After the company's ordering processing facility shuts down, Todd's boss transfers him to their call center in Mumbai, India where he supervises a small group of telephone operators as well as a strict and unruly supervisor named Rajiv Gidwani. Though he is a stranger in a strange land, Todd embraces what familiarity he can, which he finds in the company of fellow American businessman Charlie Davies (Diedrich Bader) and Australian hottie Tonya (Pippa Black). Amongst his indiginous staff are Asha (Rebecca Hazlewood), Gupta (Parvesh Cheena), Manmeet (Sacha Dhawan) and Madhuri (Anisha Nagarajan).
