This series takes place following events from season four of its parent program, The Vampire Diaries. The series stars Joseph Morgan as Niklaus "Klaus" Mikaelson, Daniel Gillies as Elijah Mikaelson, Claire Holt as Rebekah Mikaelson, Phoebe Tonkin as Hayley Marshall, Charles Michael Davis as Marcel Gerard, Daniella Pineda as Sophie Deveraux, Leah Pipes as Camillie O'Connell, and Danielle Campbell as Davina Claire.
