Oans are a fictional race featured in television programs based on DC Comics properties. It relates to the Green Lantern line of programs and first appeared in the "Evil is as Evil Does" vignette from the Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure in September, 1967.
Description[]
Oans are short in stature with blue skin and white hair. However, the white hair may be a product of age, as the only Oans that are ever presented are elderly men. Oans are the evolved form of their predecessor race, the Maltusians, though in their current form they are visually indistinguishible from one another. They are living batteries of immense cosmic power and have combined their power and their stern sense of cosmic responsibility to form the Guardians of the Universe (someone's gotta do it, I guess).

- In their first appearance in "Evil is as Evil Does", the Oans are presented as Caucasian. In both the comic books and later television programs, they are presented with blue skin.
