Michael Carlyle Hall is a television actor born in Raleigh, North Carolina on February 1st, 1971. He is best known for playing famed serial killer Dexter Morgan on the Showtime TV series Dexter.

Michael's first major role in television was playing David Fisher, the middle child in the Fisher family on the HBO drama series Six Feet Under. Michael received second billing on the series and appeared in all sixty-three episodes. He was nominated in 2002 for Actor of the Year at the AFI Awards.

Michael was cast in the lead role of Dexter Morgan on the HBO series Dexter, which began airing in October, 2006. His character is a blood splatter analyst for the Miami Police Department by day, but spends his off-hours struggling to channel his psychopathic urges. As a serial killer, Dexter Morgan trains his efforts towards killing those whom he believes represent a present threat to society. Michael has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for the category of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama series for his work on Dexter in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.

  • Michael C. Hall attended school at New York University (NYU) where he earned a Master's degree in Fine Arts.
  • In 2010, Michael C. Hall was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He received chemotherapy treatment for the disease and has since gone into full recovery.
