Adventures of Superman[]
Lara is a fictional alien and a minor character featured in the 1952 action series Adventures of Superman. She was played by actress Aline Towne and appeared in the premiere episode of the series, "Superman on Earth".
Lara was a Kryptonian from the planet Krypton. She was the wife of Jor-El and the mother of baby Kal-El. When geological upheaval threatened to destroy Krypton, Jor-El built a rocket to take Lara and the baby to a safe world. Lara refused to leave her husband's side however, but agreed to do anything possible to spare her son Krypton's fate. Lara placed Kal-El inside of a rocket, and watched it launch from the beleaguered planet. Lara died along with her husband, and everybody else on Krypton when the planet exploded.
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe[]
Lara was a busty member of a gnome-like race known as the Widgets, who resided at the Widget Fortress in the aptly named Widget Woods on the planet Eternia. Lara seemed to have an interest in a gullible guard named Squinch. Lara's presence made him nervous, and it is unclear whether Squinch reciprocated Lara's obvious affection for him. His nervous comments sometimes yielded accidental insults.
