"The Silent Scream" is the seventh episode of the British television series, Hammer House of Horror. It was directed by Alan Gibson with a script written by Francis Essex. It first aired on ITV1 on Saturday, October 25th, 1980. The episode stars Peter Cushing as Martin Blueck, an elderly pet shop owner who gives an ex-convict named Chuck Spillers (played by Brian Cox), a new lease on life by offering him money and the opportunity to work for him in his private zoo. As with every episode of the show however, there is more to the seemingly kind-hearted Martin Blueck than meets the eye. The episode co-stars Elaine Donnelly as Annie, Anthony Carrick as Aldridge, Robin Browne as a police officer and Terry Kinsella as Lionel.
