Professor Strange first appeared in Detective Comics #36 in February, 1940 in a story titled "Batman Meets Professor Hugo Strange".
- Victor Fries is a DC Comics super-villain who goes by the code name of Mister Freeze. He was originally called Mister Zero and first appeared in Batman #121 in February, 1959 in a story called ""The Ice Crimes of Mr. Zero". One of the constants governing the character in most of his iterations is that he was a scientist who turned to crime while desperately trying to develop a process to save his terminally ill wife, Nora.
