George J. Lewis is a Mexican film and television actor born in Guadalajara, Jalisco on December 10th, 1903. With nearly three-hundred movie and TV credits, George has distinguished himself by playing a variety of Mexican characters, many of which he went uncredited for. As such, George Lewis plays a major role in the formation of two of the most infamous pop culture icons of the Western genre.

George J. Lewis passed away in Rancho Santa Fe, California on December 8th, 1995 - two days before his 92nd birthday.

He is also known for playing the role of Don Alejandro de la Vega, father of Don Diego de la Vega (Guy Williams) - better known as Zorro in the Walt Disney Company television series of the same name. Diego also had a mute servant named Bernardo (Gene Sheldon) who pretended to be deaf so he would be able to act as Zorro's secret agent.
