Alfred Thomas "Freddie" Highmore is a British film and television actor. He was born in Camden Town, London, England on February 14th, 1992. After more than a decade of working as a child actor, Freddie landed his first major starring role in television as the inevitable serial killer Norman Bates in the A&E television series Bates Motel.
As a child actor, Freddie Highmore is best known for playing the role of Charlie Bucket in the 2005Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp.
In 2009, Freddie Highmore provided the voice of Astro Boy in the Astro Boy animated feature film.
