Biography[]
Ace Peterson is the young son of former L.A. factory worker, Mike Peterson. In 2013, Mike volunteered for a secret experiment that gave him superhuman strength. He kept his talents secret from most people, but Ace knew what his father could do, emphasising the notion that they were a "team". [2]
The leader of the Centipede program that gave Mike his abilities, the Clairvoyant, wanted to insure Peterson's loyalty to his goals. After Mike had been gravely injured in an explosion, he was converted into a cyborg assassin code named Deathlok. The Clairoyant had Ace Peterson kidnapped and helped captive in a laboratory. Should Mike ever break through his brainwashing, the boy would serve as their literal "ace in the hole".
A S.H.I.E.L.D. consultant named Skye rescued Ace Peterson, allowing Mike to turn against the Clairvoyant's agents, who were secretly members of the international terrorist cartel known as HYDRA.
