Falling Skies is an American science fiction drama created by Robert Rodat and produced by Steven Spielberg for DreamWorks Television. The series began airing on Sunday evenings on June 19th, 2011 on TNT. The premise of the show follows a ragtag group of civilians struggling to survive in the apocalyptic fallout of an alien invasion. Noah Wyle stars as history professor Tom Mason who finds himself pushed into the role of leader and hero and becomes a caretaker not only for his young sons, but also for other survivors who are desperately trying to avoid being killed by the alien "skitters".
