Drama is a primary genre of television entertainment. Dramatic television tends to work within the confines of plausible "real world" issues and often explores the personal relationships as well as the professional attitudes of it's main cast membes. Dramas are often combined with other genres to create hybrid subgenres, such as the dramedy, which refers to dramas with elements of comedy.
Other subgenres of drama may include the mystery genre, crime dramas, medical dramas, etc.
