David Franklin is an Australian television actor born in Fremantle, Western Australia on May 7th, 1962. He has made sporadic appearances in various Australian soap operas and dramas such as A Country Practice and Water Rats, but has also distinguished himself in the American market for his portrayals of Brutus on the fantasy/action series Xena: Warrior Princess and Captain Meeklo Braca on the sci-fi program Farscape.

Career[]

David's television career began in the 1970s in the soap opera genre when he played a character named Bernie Harper on the Australian series The Restless Years. It is unclear exactly which episodes David appeared in.

In 1978, David appeared in his first television miniseries, which was Loss of Innocence. The name of the character he played is unknown.

David Franklin played three different characters on the TV soap opera A Country Practice, all during different eras. He played a character named David in the two-part "Team Work" episode in 1982. He played Tim Webb in "Out of Bounds" parts 1-2 in 1984 and he played Lionel Henderson in "Intolerance" parts 1-2.

In 1996, David Frankline played Detective Senior Chris Theorodou in two episodes of Water Rats. He appeared in "Black Water" and "Black Water II: Missing".

From 1999 to 2001, David played the historical Roman figure Brutus in four episodes of the sword & sorcery action series Xena: Warrior Princess. He appeared in "Endgame" and "The Ides of March" in 1999, "Antony and Cleopatra" in 2000 and "When Fates Collide" in 2001.

Between 2000 and 2003, David had a recurring role on the US/Australian science fiction/action series Farscape. He played Captain Meeklo Braca, a humanoid Peacekeeper and second-in-command to Scorpius. David appeared in twenty-five episodes of the series in total and reprised the character for the 2004 miniseries spin-off, Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars.
