Alan Pangborn is a fictional sheriff and a supporting character on the Hulu television series Castle Rock. He was featured in the season one storyline and was played by actor Scott Glenn. He first appeared in the pilot episode, "Severance", and has made seven appearances in the series in total.
Biography[]
Alan Pangborn was the sheriff of Castle Rock, Maine. Years ago, he found young Henry Deaver, who had gone missing following events that resulted in his father's death. In the years since the passing of Reverend Deaver, Alan Pangborn began a relationship with his widow, Ruth Deaver. As they grew older, Ruth began suffering from dementia. When Alan came to pay her a visit, she hallucinated that it was her ex-husband back from the dead, and fatally shot him.
