"Pilot" is the premiere episode of the American sitcom series 2 Broke Girls. It was directed by James Burrows and written by series creators Michael Patrick King and Whitney Cummings. It first aired on CBS on Monday, September 19th, 2011. The series centers on Max Black - a street-wise Brooklyn waitress who works at the Williamsburg Diner and Caroline Channing - a former wealthy socialite whose entire family fortune disappears after her father is arrested for a financial scandal. Caroline is forced to get a job at the diner and befriends Max who offers her a place to live. Together, they decide to pursue a dream to develop their own cupcake baking business.
