Season Two of the science fiction television series 12 Monkeys aired on Syfy from April 18th, 2016 to July 18th, 2016, spanning a total of thirteen episodes. The series aired on Monday evenings at 9:00 pm. With this season, actors Aaron Stanford, Amanda Schull, and Kirk Acevedo all return as main cast members, reprising their respective roles as James Cole, Cassandra Railly, and José Ramse. Season one regular, Noah Bean, was removed from the main line-up, and only made a few guest appearances this season. Season one co-stars Todd Stashwick, Emily Hampshire, and Barbara Sukowa were all bumped up to the main cast line-up. Stashwick played Theodore Deacon, Hampshire played Jennifer Goines, and Sukowa played Katrina Jones née Werner.
12 Monkeys was developed for television by Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett. It is based on the 1995 feature film Twelve Monkeys by David & Janet Peoples.
